At Pangaea Tree Ltd, we are dedicated to doing our part in the fight against global warming by restoring forests, planting more trees around the world, and generating carbon credits.
Adopting environmentally-friendly practices is essential for the well-being of our planet. In fact, it is predicted that the carbon credit market will soon surpass the size of the oil market!
It is estimated that approximately 50 gigatons of CO2e are released into the atmosphere every year. To meet the 2050 target of reducing global emissions by 60% compared to 1990 levels (22.4 gigatons1), 190 nations have committed to spending trillions of dollars. This goal requires a reduction of 35.8 gigatons of CO2eq by 2050.
This means that there is a total addressable market of 35.8 gigatons of CO2eq that needs to be offset or removed. Currently, the voluntary carbon market (VCM) is trading offset types at an average price range of $5-$15 per ton. Based on this range, the market is valued at $179 billion to $537 billion per year.
The condition of the Earth’s atmosphere is rapidly deteriorating. In his 2021 book, Bill Gates notes that the world adds an average of 51 billion tons of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere annually. Pangaea Tree Ltd is addressing this issue by creating carbon credits and offsetting carbon emissions. Carbon credits are verifiable and measurable reductions in emissions resulting from certified climate action projects, such as protecting ecosystems, restoring forests, and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. By purchasing carbon credits from verified projects, individuals and organizations can offset their own emissions, and these credits are permanently retired and cannot be reused. As global temperatures rise, resulting in the loss of sea ice, extreme heat waves, droughts, and rising sea levels, millions of people will fall into poverty. As a result, the demand for carbon credits is rising as companies compete for them. However, Pangaea Tree Ltd will address this issue by restoring forests and planting more trees to create additional carbon credits. Investing in green solutions is critical for the survival of our planet.
Steak 1kg produces ≈ 13.3 kilos of CO2
Car 15t/km produces ≈ 1800kg CO2
Flying short distances (up to 2000 km) produces ≈ 750 kg CO2
Flying long distances (starting from 4000 km) produces ≈ 3,650 kg CO2
On-line shopping: In the industrialized countries, an average of 400 tons of CO2 are emitted daily for online shopping, which corresponds to about 255 car journeys from Northern Europe to Beijing China
Human breathing produces ≈ 1000-2000 kg CO2 per year
All of humanity produces 3 billion tons of CO2 per year by breathing. With an increasing population at the current rate, this number increases by 500 Million tons of CO2 every year.
CO2 Absorption And Oxygen Production:
1 tree absorbs 60kg of CO2 per year,
in 20 years this one tree absorbed 1200 kg of CO2
On a plantation with 600 trees per hectare the approximate absorption annually lays at around 36,000 kg of CO2
1 tree produces about 3 million liters of oxygen per year
On a plantation with 600 trees per hectare the approximate oxygen production of a single plantation lays at around 1,8 billion liters per year.
